Hello everyone, I hope you are all good and like the previous blog “SSC Vocabulary Day 9 :Indian Personalities Shaping History and Culture. We’re making our SSC study material more exciting by including examples and pictures . Today, Our theme of vocab is based upon environment and You can also share your ideas that can help us to make this even more interesting. All these words are asked in SSC exams.

Let’s Start
- Scuttle (जल्दबाज़ी में चलना)
- Meaning: To move quickly with short, hurried steps.
- Synonyms: Scurry, Sprint, Dash
Monsoon rains cause people to scuttle for shelter.
“Monsoon” from Arabic “mausim,” meaning “season, wind shift.”
2. Jeopardy (खतरा)
- Meaning: Danger of loss, harm, or failure.
- Synonyms: Peril, Risk, Hazard
Deforestation puts wildlife in jeopardy. The Forest Survey of India (FSI 1981) publishes reports on deforestation in India.
3. Obliterate (नामोनिशान मिटा देना)
- Meaning: To completely destroy or erase.
- Synonyms: Eradicate, Annihilate, Extinguish
Wildfires can obliterate forests.
4. Pillage (लूट-मार)
- Meaning: To rob a place using violence, especially in wartime.
- Synonyms: Plunder, Loot, Ransack
Poachers pillage the jungle, threatening wildlife.
5. Ravine (घाटी)
- Meaning: A deep, narrow gorge with steep sides.
- Synonyms: Canyon, Gorge, Chasm
Ravines are home to diverse ecosystems.
6. Requisite (आवश्यक)
- Meaning: Required for a particular purpose.
- Synonyms: Necessary, Essential, Needed
Clean air is a requisite for a healthy life.
The Clean Air Report is published by the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) in India.
7. Imminent (निकट आ रहा है, आसन्न)
- Meaning: About to happen.
- Synonyms: Acumen, Discretion, Common Sense
With the dark clouds, a rainstorm is imminent.
The World Meteorological Organization (WMO) recognizes ten basic cloud types for classification.
8. Ravenous (भूखा)
- Meaning: Extremely hungry.
- Synonyms: Famished, Starved, Voracious
After a long migration, birds are ravenous for food.
9. Dainty (सुहावना, नाजुक)
- Meaning: Small and attractive in a delicate way.
- Synonyms: Delicate, Petite, Elegant:
The dainty flowers bloom in the spring.
10. Incensed (क्रोधित, उत्तेजित)
- Meaning: Extremely angry
- Synonyms: Angered, Enraged, Infuriated
Locals are incensed by the illegal dumping of waste in their area.
